A Narcissist's Woes

I am the one I think wisest,
I am the one I know best.
I have so much love for me,
I delight in my own company.
I never need another,
I am my grandest lover.

On cloudy days and moonlit nights,
when into the looking glass I see,
I'm overcome by such admiration,
that I kiss my winsome reflection.

The heartless mirror, however,
it doesn't kiss me back. No. Never.
Frozen cold against my lips,
the devil laughs as it quips.

I poured my heart out to you,
on paper, of course.
Folded it and slipped it
into the envelope
of my deepest vulnerabilities.
Sealed it with a hundred kisses,
perhaps, a hundred wishes.
          
And you...
impatient you, ripped it open.
I would've lived, my darling,
lived through the gashes & tears,
if only you had read
more than words.
         
On paper, of course,
I poured my heart out to you.

Okay is an okay place to be...

Okay...

If, bless you, you've been through a hard time 
recently or a while ago...
and find yourself looking for yourself,
decide now, to be kind to "you".

Decide that you will give yourself time 
to heal, to recover, to gain your strength.
Then use this time for YOU!

Don't stress... don't talk down to yourself. 
Small steady steps. Be good to "you".
Find what you love. Do what makes you happy. 
Don't rush to joy.
Baby steps... stumble... fall... get up!

Sometimes... you just need some time... 
until then... just for a little while...
